It was very warm early and given this is our last full day in Townsville we wanted to get out and see a bit more of the area before we left. Time though for a last game of mini golf before we go! Seriously - so funny - we laughed more - no holes in one this time although I did hit one ball that almost got a hole in one in the next course!
Our first stop was Bushland Beach which has a huge cafe and a large picnic ground right beside the entry to the beach which was interesting because this sign was also right beside the entry to the beach...... Cafe d'Croc as I have nicknamed it must be a popular place for a hungry croc! And - the tide was out a bit....
We then headed back into Townsville - of course we had to visit our now favourite Gelati shop but on the way I took some photos of this waterfall coming off the top of a cliff behind a house on the main road.
These little things are so much like the road-runner it's not funny. They are leggy, inquisitive and they sure can run fast.
The bay was a hub of activity again - being the weekend it is very much the place to be. Cafe's, pubs and restaurants along the Strand were doing a roaring trade.
And more of those amazing trees.
We finished off our stay with dinner with Joe and Janine and family and a bit of a sad farewell. It always seems as though we only see one another at funerals these days - but certainly hope to be able to make trips once in a while to catch up.
We didn't get back to the van until fairly late so thought we would keep the packing up at a minimum so as not to disturb our neighbours. We'll aim for an early morning instead.
